Eloise (2016)

Action, Horror, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Thriller
Eliza Dushku, Robert Patrick, Chace Crawford, Martin Klebba
Two men are dead, one has disappeared without trace, and the authorities have questions. Set in the real-life hospital and asylum, the Eloise; said to be the most haunted place in the United States, the story follows Jacob, who has just been informed that his estranged father had died, leaving him a large inheritance. When he visits his father's lawyer, he discovers he has an aunt he never knew about. Although she is believed to have died many years before in the asylum she was committed to as a young woman, there is no death certificate; without it Jacob will need to wait for her to be declared legally dead, meaning he will not get his inheritance for years. The lawyer advises Jacob, as next of kin, to simply apply for a copy of the death certificate from the hospital. Jacob reconnects with an old friend, Dell, who joins him in his mission. When the hospital tells Jacob that the records he needs are in an abandoned building, and will take weeks to retrieve, he and Dell decide to do the job themselves; enlisting the help of an eccentric Eloise expert, Scott. When Scott insists on accompanying the men on their visit to the hospital, his protective sister, Pia, reluctantly joins too. Strange things begin to happen the moment Jacob returns to the hospital. As the past comes alive, the four discover that getting the death certificate won't be as easy as they thought; getting out alive will be even harder.—*
