Balto (1995)

Set in 1925 Nome, Alaska, Balto is a half-husky wolf dog, who is an outcast due to his heritage, his only friends is his adopted father Boris, a snow goose and two polar bears Muk and Luk, they live in the outskirts of Nome. Balto still feels out of place and he is constantly bullied by Steele, an arrogant malamute snow dog and Nome's so-called hero. Balto soon finds solace in Jenna a kind-hearted red husky and a young girl named Rosy. Another issue arises, when all of the children, including Rosy get sick with diphtheria and harsh weather conditions causes delays for the vaccine to be shipped. Balto notices the situation becoming dire and concerned about Rosy's fate, he sets out to help the sled team which is lead by Steele to get the vaccine delivered, after they get lost in the harsh conditions and the musher is knocked out, causing Balto to lead the team back to Nome. Steele is determined to make sure Balto doesn't make it back to Nome by sabotaging the trail he created. Along the way, Balto learns to embrace his half-wolf heritage as his greatest strength and he becomes renewed with hope on saving the children.—dawsonpersi
